Bird’s eyeview of Seville, in Andalusia, Spain

While highly romanticized, Seville, Spain truly boasts cultural traditions, eclectic architecture, and sweeping rolling hills that create the dreamy image of a laid-back, Andalusian countryside getaway.

Residents of EU countries and Schengen areas can enjoy such a holiday, unlike British nationals from whom more documents are needed for entry into Spain in light of increasing cases of the new COVID Omicron variant.

Updated policies for December 2021

British visitors are no longer permitted to visit without a vaccination certificate, beginning 1 December until the end of the year. Full vaccination should have been obtained no less than 14 days before arrival in Spain. Only children under 12 years of age are exempted and therefore allowed to enter Spain without vaccination.

Previously, new measures were also introduced for arrivals from Malta, including presenting COVID-19 vaccination and recovery certificates, and the vaccine type must be one recognised by the Spanish government.

While UK passportholders are only the latest group to receive stricter requirements for entry, increasing cases of COVID Omicron mutation, first reported in Botswana, may affect more countries of origin.
