What are Local Experiences (In-person Tour Assignments)

Local experiences are personalised and private activities and tours provide by Lokal Amico Hosts to guests travelling in cities where Lokal Amico has their network of hosts. These experiences can range from walking tours, visiting museums, food and drinks activities and bespoke/personalised tours based on the guests’ requests. A local experience can last from 2 hours - 6 hours depending on the activity or location.

Our network of hosts are comprised of licensed tour guides, historians, professional photographers, chefs, sommeliers, musicians and locals with vast knowledge and passion about their cities.

Cancellation and refund policy (for local experiences only)

  • Should there be changes to your schedule, please inform the Lokal Amico team at least 7 days prior to the starting time of your local experience to be entitled for cancellation. You can also opt to reschedule your experience instead by sending an email to bookings@lokalamico.com at least 7 days prior to the starting time of your local experience and our Experience planners will be very happy to assist you.

  • If a host cancels an experience, guests receive 100% refund.

  • Please refer to our rebooking and cancellation policy.

*By starting time, this takes into account the starting time based on the time zone of the experience.

Are Lokal Amico Experience Hosts insured

Lokal Amico SRL is an online platform connecting guests to locals around the world who are providing services in the form of personalised and private experiences, tours and activities. We are an online platform that connects the guests to the hosts in the form of referrals (experiences booked through the Lokal Amico website).

By making a reservation or booking through our platform, guests enter a direct contractual relationship with the host with whom they make a booking with. 

Lokal Amico hosts are freelancers and are not responsible for obtaining the relevant insurances to offer their services to guests. Lokal Amico SRL always recommend that hosts research the correct insurance when publishing or joining an experience.

From the point when the booking is made, Lokal Amico only serves an intermediary between the guest and the host. 

Lokal Amico SRL is not a party to any agreement between the guest and the host. The host is and shall be solely responsible for its provision of the Services to the guests. The hosts indemnify, defend and hold harmless Lokal Amico SRL from and against any (attributable) failure to perform or damages arising out of this relationship.

What are Online Experiences (Virtual Tour Assignments)

Online experiences are online activities done via videoconference platform which include, but not limited to live online videos, video streaming, communications and other on-line interactions between the Lokal Amico Hosts and Guests.

How to book and join an online experience

  • Choose from the available adventures here. You have two options:

    • Online experiences: Minimum to book is 4 guests per experience.

    • Private parties: Book through this page for your private groups (e.g., colleagues, friends, families or even for your officemates) with a specific date and time and tailored requirements.

  • Once you’ve chosen the online experience and have selected/provided your preferred schedule, proceed with payment.

  • Once payment has been confirmed, you will receive an email to confirm the details of your experience. For private parties, please expect and email to confirm your tailored requirements and preferred schedule.

  • A reminder will be sent a day before and 1 hour prior to the start of your experience.

  • Please ensure to join on time. Our Lokal Amici are well briefed to treat all our Guests with respect. They will make sure you have an amazing time with us online. We expect the same respect for our Hosts. Lokal Amico team does not tolerate bad behaviour.

Cancellation and refund policy (for online experiences only)

  • Should there be changes to your schedule, please inform the Lokal Amico team at least 48 hours prior to the start of your online experience to be entitled for rebooking. Please refer to our rebooking and cancellation policy.

  • Refunds only applies when the Host cancels in less than 24 hours. For Guest cancellation, please refer to our Cancellation policy.

How to Join Using Zoom

  • Once booking with Guests has been confirmed, Lokal Amico team will set up the scheduled online experience with the unique Zoom meeting links. Guests will receive an email with online adventure Zoom details and also detailed instructions on how to join.

  • Prior to joining, please ensure you have good Wi-Fi connection and your video and audio are working properly. It is advised to use a laptop or an iPad to fully enjoy your online experience on full screen.

  • Please join on time.

Issues and Complaints

We’ll assist you in case of issues or complaints where possible. In case of a complaint about, or issue with the platform, please contact Lokal Amico SRL at askus@lokalamico.com to resolve the problem.

In case of a complaint, please contact Lokal Amico SRL within 24 hours after the complaint has arisen and you agree to cooperate with and assist Lokal Amico SRL in good faith by providing needed information and actions as may be reasonably requested by Lokal Amico SRL. Any claim or complaint against Lokal Amico SRL in respect of the service must be promptly submitted, but in any event within 14 days after the booked experience has taken place. Any claim or complaint that is submitted after the 14 days period, may be rejected and the claimant shall forfeit his/her right to any (damage or cost) compensation.

As a Guest you understand that in case of a no show, interruptions or non-completion of the experiences caused by you, you as a Guest are responsible for any damages up to the amount paid. In case of any damage claims or other complaints related to the experiences exceeding the amount paid, Lokal Amico SRL will mediate in finding a reasonable solution between the Host and Guest.

Except as otherwise set forth in these Terms, these Terms shall be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Romania, excluding any rules on conflict of laws (the „Applicable Law”). Any dispute, conflict or controversy, howsoever arising out of or broadly in connection with or relating to these Terms, including those relating to its validity, its construction or its enforceability, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bucharest, Romania.
